Spingo – Spin Together Bingo

Every one of us is stressed out and in need of a little bit of fun, and what could be more fun than a lighthearted spinning game? And yes, there will be prizes. 🙂

We’re hosting a Bingo game starting on Saturday, March 21st, and ending on Monday, March 30th. Time doesn’t matter, and there are no teams for this one. It’s more of a personal spinning challenge.

Here’s how it works:

1. You can find the Bingo card at the bottom of this page.

2. Each space on the Bingo card is a different yarn construction or fiber preparation and includes a minimum amount of fiber by weight or yardage. We’re keeping the minimums low. Some are easy while others are a bit more challenging. The goal is to get 5 in a row to get Bingo. Your 5 in a row can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

3. You may have to make some strategic decisions about which ones to spin. Don’t worry though. No one is grading how perfect your yarn is, the idea is to challenge yourself to try something new.

4. Each skein of yarn can only count for one Bingo space even if it fits in more than one category. All yarn MUST be spun during the game period.

5. As you finish and get Bingo, share a photo of all your skeins in the FB group and also send us an email with picture(s) of your yarns, what squares you are filling, and your address for the drawing to spingo@goodiesupply.com.

6. Everyone who gets Bingo and sends an email as described above will be entered into a random drawing to win one of five prizes. Each of the five organizers (Jennifer, Christiane, Isis, Alexandra, and I, Carla) is donating one of the five fiber prizes. It might be a braid, art batts, rolags, or some other awesome fiber prep.

7. We will notify the five randomly selected prize winners by about Wednesday to let them know to expect a package of squishy mail from one of us.

I know some of us can be very competitive, but remember that this is different from the big competition in October. It’s just intended to be fun and relieve your stress and not add to it.

Below is a list of all the yarn constructions you’ll encounter on your Bingo card. Some may be unfamiliar, so Christiane made a video of them. Here’s the link:

You can find it in the FB group too.

One more thing–all five of us organizers are dependent on the income from our fiber arts shops to make a living, and things are tough for all of us and many more right now. If you are in a position to help out, please consider supporting our shops and/or the shops of other fiber artists who are hurting right now.
